It goes no deeper than to quote J.A. Clark, Rodney's father, an inspiration to Rodney Clark, who in the late 1940's said: "Give a good person a good Oyster and you will have them forever."
It is a motto that Rodney has lived by during his more than thirty years in serving the Oyster in Canada, North America and beyond.
At ROD, we keep reminding ourselves that Oyster growing is an expensive long haul that involves acting and reacting not only with the P.E.I. Oyster and its waters, but also with its peoples and its politics.
The Oyster is a remarkable and viable food that needs stewardship, public support, passion and a caring artesanal approach, not corporate handling.
