Rodney Clark

An Oyster Man - enough said.
PEI native Rodney Clark is the founder of Rodney’s Oyster Depot, as well as Rodney’s Oyster House in Toronto, which sells over a million pieces of shellfish a year. The ‘Messiah of the Mollusk’s journey started when he answered a tiny ad in a Toronto paper that read: ‘Wanted: An Oyster Man.”

Rodney has shucked professionally on four continents and has served oysters to royalty, to the rich and famous, and to the common man with equal passion and dedication. Rodney is a three time Canadian Oyster Shucking Champion, and has represented Canada twice at the World Championships taking home honours for ‘Best Presentation’ in 1995.

For over thirty years in the oyster business, Rodney’s philosophy has been guided by one simple quote from his father, J.A. Clark:
